Blackfriars Valentines Menu
Thursday 14 February 2008 - £49.50 for glass Champagne, coffee & chocolates.

Whether you believe the legend about the Roman priest, named Valentine, who defied Emperor Claudius’ decree by continuing to marry young lovers, or that Valentine was a prison inmate who fell in love with the jailer’s daughter, there is no doubt that 14 February is now regarded as the romantic day of the modern calendar. So to help you celebrate, we have devised a menu that might get those romantic juices flowing!

Suggested drinks
Puligny-Montrachet really is the only wine to match the delicate sweetness of the langoustines although the Côtes de Provence Rosé works well with the red mullet. For the mushroom soup then only the Les Salices Pinot Noir will really work. The Beaujolais Chiroubles works well with the pork although the Siete Soles Semillon Chardonnay or even the René Muré Pinot Blanc will also go well (and, of course, you can even try cider!). And please try our Brown Brothers Australian Muscat with the rhubarb and any of our Sauvignon Blancs with the cheese fondue.
